Things to do this month...
Bay Area Bonsai Society
**************MEETINGS***************************
May - 8 7-9 Member tree Q&A- Tree workshop- We will have a change of plans for the meeting tonight as Milt has developed a bad cold and will not be able to present, we will look to reschedule his presentation in a future month. For the meeting tonight (7pm Green Bay Botanical Garden) we start by holding a question and answer session to allow members to ask questions they may related to their trees or general bonsai care. For the second half of the meeting members are encouraged to bring a tree to work on, this is a great opportunity for new members to see season appropriate work that is being performed on members trees. If you do not have a tree to bring do not worry, use this time to learn from members and observe.
June - 12, 7-9pm Decandling Double Flush Pines (Chris's house) - Chris - The June meeting will take place at my house and the topic covered will be Decandling of Double Flush Pines. The presentation will start at 7pm but members can arrive any time after 6pm. Even if you don't currently own pine bonsai this is an opportunity to see my collection of approximately 45 trees and ask questions you may on tree location, fertilization and general summer care. We have a nice patio and I will plan on having a fire and beverages available. To prepare for the meeting (and adequate beverages) please let me know if you plan to attend and if you need my address. (Members should have received an email from Chris.) The meeting will take place rain or shine as I have space in my garage where I work on trees and can hold the presentation there if necessary.

July-13 9-3:30 (Saturday) Plantscapers Wiring/Styling workshop Brian/Steve from Milwaukee Club @ Plantscapers in Luxemburg- w/potluck Lunch
-The July meeting will take place at Plantscapers (E2051 Luxemburg Rd, Luxemburg WI) from 9am-3:30 on Saturday July 13. Steve and Brian, from the Milwaukee Club, will be onsite to assist club members with styling, summer cutback, and wiring. This meeting is for members only as the club will be covering their fee. I would request that members plan on bringing no more than 2 trees (one for the morning session and one for the afternoon session). The first part of each session will be Steve and Brian walking through and discussing each tree with the full group being able to listen and ask questions about their recommendations on individual member trees. Once everyone's tree has been reviewed members will then have time to perform the recommended tasks while Brian and Steve rotate through the group and offer advice. We will be having a pot luck lunch and members are encouraged to bring a dish to pass. I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting.
